Debu(t)ary: Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows

Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows
L-R Mesmerized, Showtime, Flame Thrower, Grandstand, In The Spotlight
I know, I know, more eyeshadows!  I just love eyeshadows and making palettes.  I bought all of the Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows as soon as I was able to.  As the name would suggest, they are really metallic and look like they've been foiled (used wet) even when dry.  They feel really creamy and look their best when applied with your fingers.  They blend with brushes just fine but if you want them at their most opaque and shiny then it's fingers all the way.

Debu(t)ary: Lunatick Cosmetic Labs Apocalipslicks

Apocalipslicks in Coven Cream, Crypt Cream and Renegade

A new lip love of mine is the Apocalipslicks by Lunatick Cosmetic Labs, an indie makeup brand which is 100% vegan.  They're the first product I've ever tried from the brand and I'm already eager to try more.  The Apocalipslicks are a very opaque, thick gloss/liquid lipstick.  They are thick enough that there is no bleeding around the lips and the colour doesn't fade.
I chose two greyish colours and peachy coral.

Debu(t)ary: 5 Looks with the Nars Dual Intensity Palette

NARS Dual Intensity Palette

To go with my review of the Nars Dual Intenisty palette here, I thought I would show you some of the looks I've created using it.  All of these are what I would call work-friendly, but maybe most wouldn't.  Anyway, nothing too dramatic.

Debu(t)ary: Illamasqua Precision Brow Gel

Illamasqua Precision Brow Gel in Strike

Until last week Illamasqua only had one shade of their Precision Brow Gel, Strike, a medium brown which would suit most people.  I've been using this for about a month now and it's the perfect colour for my brows (I would also match their Brow Cake in Thunder or Anastasia's Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown).  As of the 12th there is also a colour for blondes, Awe, red-heads, Glimpse, and dark grey, Stare.

Debu(t)ary: NARS Dual Intensity Palette

I've been wanting to try Nars' Dual Intensity eye shadows ever since they first released but was holding out at as £21 a shadow is quite a lot of money!  I was super excited to see they were bring out a palette of these shadows as it included a few I'd had my eye on.  At £45 it is still quite an expensive palette but I was lucky enough to have a gift card and so took the plunge.

The draw of these shadows is that they work really well wet or dry (the clue is in the name).  Unlike most shadows, their quality is not impaired when you use them wet, it doesn't form a cakey top layer.  They are shimmery when dry and highly metallic when wet, so if you are only a matte fan then this is probably not the palette for you.

Debu(t)ary: Jeffree Star I'm Royalty

Jeffree Star I'm Royalty Velour Liquid Lipstick
I've been following Jeffree Star's career for over a decade now,  I remember his MySpace days and obsessing over his photos.  While I wasn't very interested in his music, I was in love with his pink brows, perfect skin and glitter everything.

Jeffree recently launched his own makeup line.  The first of his products to launch are the Velour Liquid Lipsticks.  Currently 3 colours are available with more coming very soon.  I bought one, I'm Royalty, a deep blue-based purple.

Debu(t)ary: Benefit Roller Lash mascara

Benefit Roller Lash mascara
As lots of you may already know, if you buy Elle magazine this month you get a miniature version of Benefit's Roller Lash mascara, which isn't available to buy yet.  It claims to be a super curling and lifting mascara with 94% of their testers (all 31 of them lol) claiming it made their eyes look more open.

As I've said before, I'm not the best person to test a mascara as I have long, thick, fairly curled eye lashes but I thought I'd give it a go and give me honest opinion.

Read on for my verdict and photos with/without it.

The beginning of Debu(t)ary: SteamCream - Winter face Rescue

SteamCream

Unfortunately I've not been able to blog much in January.  I had flu for a while and there was a death in the family  To make up for this I'm going to be posting a lot more in February, albeit with slightly shorter posts perhaps.  For the whole month I'll be showcasing items I've bought in the last month or so; ones that are either new out or just new to me and the blog.  I'm going to call this series
Debu(t)ary.

To start off, let me show what has been saving my face in the cold weather.
I heard of SteamCream a few years ago when I received one in my Glossy Box but I used it inconsistently as I had plenty of moisturisers on the go.  This winter I trekked to my local Tesco which has a new, re-vamped beauty section and lo-and-behold, they now stock SteamCream.
