Max Factor Creme Puff Blush

Recently Max Factor released a new line of blushes, the Creme Puff blushes.  These marbled blushes are available in 6 colours.  I've only bought one, 15 Seductive Pink.  It's a deep mauvey rose with some lighter pink swirled into it.  While it looks super shimmery in the pan, on skin it looks luminous.  No glittery cheeks here!

I like to apply this blush with my MAC 187 brush.  Because the duo-fibre bristles on this brush aren't very dense it means the hairs don't pick up too much product.  My brush is quite old and has completely lost its shape but that also helps.  It's quite a deep colour so a diffused application is best; these two products work so well together.  The Real Techniques Stippling Brush is a bit smaller but may do the job nicely as well.

Read on for a close up and how it looks on.

These blushes have been compared to Hourglass Ambient Lighting blushes.  In particular this one looks quite similar to Mood Exposure.  If the Hourglass blushes are as good as the Ambient Powders then I know they will be super finely milled and look really natural.  The Hourglass blushes are £28 however, while the Max Factor ones are £8.99.

The Creme Puff blushes comes in a range of colours that would suit most skin tones.  There are nudes, lighter pinks and a more berry colour.  You might want to go in with a light hand with the two darker colours, while the other four seem to be buildable and are safe options for not accidentally piling it on.  Max Factor are definitely the higher end of drugstore/pharmacy brands and I think the £8.99 price tag is appropriate.  The packaging is nice and sturdy and I always appreciate being able to see the colour at a glance!
I really recommend these; you should be on the look out for the 3 for 2 offers that Superdrug and Boots regularly have, and then you can have 3 of them!

As you can see below, despite being quite a deep colour, Seductive Pink doesn't look too much on me.  I like my blush to placed quite far back but if I applied it further in, this colour would look like a good natural flush.

I'd love to hear what your favourite cheaper brand blushes are at the moment.  Have you tried any of the Creme Puff blushes?
